At the Siouxland Y, we believe in the power of play and the importance of teamwork. Our Youth Volleyball program is designed to empower young boys and girls in Kindergarten through 6th grade to develop their skills, both on and off the court. Our dedicated volunteer coaches are committed to providing a fun and positive environment where children can learn, grow and build friendships.
Whether your child is new to the sport or has been playing for years, our program is open to all skill levels. We strive to teach the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and fair play while encouraging each player to reach their full potential.

Program Dates & Times: April 1 - May 13 | No Games Easter Weekend
Games follow practices on Saturdays between 9 AM – 4 PM.
Games times would depend on the number of registrants.

We offer four age-appropriate leagues here at the Norm Waitt Sr. YMCA!
KINDERGARTEN
Volleyball at the YMCA provides youth with low-pressure opportunities to learn the rules and fundamentals of the game in a fun and supportive environment. The kindergarten division plays on a pickleball net with a beach volleyball. Game day structure: 30 minutes of practice, followed by two 10-minute sets.
No games on Easter weekend.
Member: $35 | Non-Member: $55 (YMCA Sports Shirt $15)
1st & 2nd GRADE:
1st & 2nd Grade Volleyball Rec Division is a great introductory program to the sport of volleyball!
Players will learn the basics of serving, passing, setting, and hitting.
Players enjoy modified rules for this age group to provide maximum success.
- Players play 4 v 4 for six Saturdays, including a 25-minute practice followed by a 25-minute game each week.
- Offered for boys and girls in 1st & 2nd grade. The league will run co-ed UNLESS there are enough male and female sign-ups to run a boys' division & girls' division.
- Coaches officiate for this league to help incorporate skill-building and educational moments.
3rd & 4th GRADE:
Recreational Volleyball is a low-pressure way to help kids develop their volleyball skills.
This program is designed to teach basic skills of volleyball, including service, passing setting and hitting, as well as game concepts such as rotation, offense and defense.
All equipment is age appropriate.
- The league will run co-ed UNLESS there are enough male and female sign-ups to run a boys' division & girls' division.
- Officials will be provided for this league.
5th & 6th GRADE:
This program is for 5th and 6th-grade girls & boys who want to continue to improve their volleyball skills after their school season ends. Expect players to work on skills and improve their serving, passing, hitting and team play.
- A season-ending league tournament will be held for all teams.
- Officials will be provided for this league.
- The league will run co-ed UNLESS there are enough male and female sign-ups to run a boy's division & girl's division.
