Program Information

Weight Loss Program Siouxland is an 8-week small-group experience at the Siouxland YMCA designed to help you lose weight in a healthy, sustainable way with education, support, and accountability. You’ll build real-life skills around nutrition, food tracking, strength training, and daily movement, all while staying connected to a community that’s cheering you on.

  • 8 weeks Program
  • Group Meetings:
    • Wednesdays | 10 AM
    • Thursdays | 5:30 PM

Registration: Member: $350 | Community: $500 (8-week membership)

  • 6 group meetings (education, support, skill-building)
  • Weekly individual check-ins (weigh-in, goal review, problem-solving, planning)
  • SMART goal tracking and progress milestones
  • Guidance on food tracking, strength training, and daily movement
  • Session recaps after individual meetings (goals + plan of action)
  • Community Registration will include Y Membership during the program
What You’ll Need
  • A food-tracking app: MyFitnessPal, EatThisMuch, or Fitbit (if available)
  • Comfortable workout clothes and a willingness to start where you are

What You’ll Learn and Practice

Weekly Individual Meetings (Accountability + Coaching)

Each week includes:

  • Weigh-in and progress review
  • Weekly SMART goals:
    • Nutrition goal
    • Activity goal
    • One additional wellness goal (optional)
  • Wins, roadblocks, and solutions
  • Food tracker check-in and plan for the week ahead

Week 1 includes additional support:

  • Measurements and starting photos (optional)
  • Set a personalized calorie goal window (based on estimated daily needs)
  • Discuss YMCA group classes and build a realistic exercise plan
  • Gym tour and equipment orientation if needed

Weeks 2–7:

  • Consistent check-ins to keep you moving forward

Week 8:

  • Final progress check, measurements, and celebration of wins
  • Build your plan to maintain results long-term
