Examples of such work or tasks include guiding people who are blind, alerting people who are deaf, pulling a wheelchair, alerting and protecting a person who is having a seizure, reminding a person with mental illness to take prescribed medications, calming a person with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder during an anxiety attack, or performing other duties.

Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA.

In the event of a building evacuation situation, staff will escort all children in Youth Center and Child Watch (if open at the time) to the designated outdoor safe area. An announcement will be made for all other members and guests in the building to follow in an orderly fashion. Parents will be allowed to check out their child(ren) once all children are safe.

All other members and guests in the building will be encouraged to stay and proceed to locker rooms. Parents will be allowed to check out their child once the weather situation has passed and everyone is deemed safe.
