Diabetes Prevention Program

Are you prediabetic?

Prediabetes is a potentially reversible condition that often leads to one of the nation’s costliest chronic diseases: diabetes.

Estimates indicate that 79 million people in the United States have pre-diabetes, but only 11% know it.

Suppose you have been diagnosed with prediabetes or believe you are at risk of developing the disease, join our innovative and life-changing wellness program to help. In that case, you adopt and maintain a healthy lifestyle that will help you reduce your chances of developing type 2 diabetes.

Diabetes Exercise Program

This program is for individuals diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes or those considered prediabetic and/or have risk factors for diabetes. In addition, the YMCA’s Diabetes Exercise Program is a fitness and education intervention designed to help you manage your diabetes and track changes in your glucose levels and physical activity.

When you have type 2 diabetes, physical activity is an essential component of your treatment plan.

Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring

Take Action To Improve Heart Health

If you live with high blood pressure, taking action to keep it well-controlled will minimize your risk for complications like stroke, heart attack, and even death. In addition, the simple process of checking and recording your blood pressure at least twice a month over four months has been shown to lower blood pressure in many people with high blood pressure.

The YMCA’s Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring Program is an evidence-based program that features personalized support as you develop the habit of routinely self-monitoring your blood pressure, tips for maintaining your cardiovascular health, and nutrition education.
